ah yes...i have joined the masses -- i have a blog -- whether or not i manage to keep it regularly updated is another story :P so, here goes:

| adventures on the big blue bus |
while on my daily bus trip to campus yesterday morning, a lady stood up to get off at her stop and she yelled to everyone "God bless and have a happy new year!" And as she stood and waited by the driver, she commented "Whew, now aren't ya glad that year is over? the devil must have been having a field day!" ...*furrowed brow* i thought to myself was 2003 that bad?!...

| new year | new blog | new me? |
isn't it fascinating how so many ppl perceive the new year as a fresh start? it's apparently the time to start anew...clean slate, with the thot "this year will definitely be different" constantly running thru the cabeza. i ask...why do ppl need a new year to make resolutions? the world certainly doesn't feel any different from Dec 31, 2003 to Jan 1, 2004. time is but a human construct :D haha. so what's the big deal about? Here's my proposal: i say, we make everyday resolutions! should we not strive to become better ppl everyday? why can't we always think: i'm going to eat a healthy meal instead of fast food; i'm gonna go to the gym today, not tomorrow; i'm going to study harder now, not later; i'm going to stop my bad habits, blahblahblah... We should consciously try to make an effort in our everyday lives to have fun, be productive, feel good, live large, veg, whatever makes life...life. but alas, we are all human and we need guidelines, deadlines, any kinda lines (i.e. time) to help us organize our busy lives. and this is when you say...duh. *shrug* just a thot. (this is MY blog aint it?!) hehe...so with that, since i refuse to make new year resolutions...the only thing thats really new about me is this blog..haha. new year, new blog...same ol' cow (and my everyday resolutions!)

| oh so azee... |
welcome to ucla. now if you look to your right, you will see the rare sight of asians... and to your left, well, what do you know, more asians :P UCLA is about 40% asian (thank you Prof Lau). it never really occurred to me, while walking on campus, as to how overwhelming the asian population is. until i walked into my asian american studies class yesterday. I strolled in (late, as usual--thank you unreliable bus system!) and i was facing a million (ok, maybe 120) asian peeps. it was so odd. i felt weird. *shrug* can't really explain it, but i think i was all asianed out. do you know what i was thinking the whole time tho, wow, there's a lotta asians in this class. i wonder how the (2) non-asians feel? it was like the asian invasion with the lone caucasion hehe...oh vells, i dont think i shall be keeping this class for very long. my schedule has some tweaking to be done.

| oh gym, the sight of you makes me want to cry|
i have never seen a gym that unmotivates me to work out. of course, that was until wooden decided to close down the weight room for renovation. Good news: more space (well-needed), new equipment (awesome!) Bad news: 3 separate weight rooms the size of my thumb (eeks), not at all conducive to productive work outs, it's stinkystuffy (eww), it's crowded (ugh), machines are all moved around. (i get to complain in my blogs right?) and worst of all...they won't be done until may! so even when we get beautiful new equipment...i won't be using it long. *sigh* alas, things just happen as they please.

hmmm, i think i wrote too much. and really insignificant stuff too. is this how all blogs are? usually i enjoy reading ppl's blogs, but then i re-read mine and think, will anyone really enjoy this? haha
maybe i should stop while i'm still ahead....if i still am. ;\
