| hiho hiho, it's off to work i go |
had work from 9-12 today. surprisingly i was wide awake at 8. work went by fast. for those who don't know (i mean..who reads my blogs anyway?) i work at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute in the Journal of Neuroscience Research office (all fancyshmancy language for "not much") haha, jk. i basically assist my boss and her boss in processing manuscripts to be published in JNR, so its a lotta officey stuff. Since no one was really around during the holidays, there's been a lotta flow into the office and we've just been trying to quickly get things in and out. it's a cool job, pays well, really flexible, nice boss. Which brings up something that's been the topic of conversation lately. Everytime i see someone i havent seen in a while (old resident or sumptin) they always ask, "oh is it your last year here?" me: "yep" them: "so what are your plans after graduation?" me: *blink blink* uh....im not really sure yet. grrr. the thing is tho, im not sure i care too much to think about it just yet, but i think i should be huh? we'll hafta think bout this more later. what do you see me as? hrmmmm.....

Had my first real lecture for my philosophy of religion class today. Now this one, i can tell already, is gonna be super interesting. I mean, religion in itself is sooooo complex with so many ppl with different beliefs, lifestyles, opinions. We basically went over the notion or meaning or properties associated with the entity that is refered to as "God" today. very basic, but already, ppl are asking the questions, voicing their opinions. It's all vedy interesting. The one thing i got outta todays lecture: we have to mean something when we say the word "God" [more to be added later, due to confusion on linda's part about atheism, theism, agnosticism and what you can or cant be, hehe] in the end, although we differ in the specifics of our beliefs about or the meanings/references we give to "God," there is a commonality in our ideas about God: that is, this entity is supposedly just, fair, a force beyond the universe... things happen for a reason, etc and we don't normally associate negative things/evil with "God." once we apply meaning to the word, then we can discuss it [next class!] more on this as the class progresses :D
