| random thoughts on the new year |

i love family | be it my parents, sisters, cousins... i am extremely lucky to have such incredible ppl in my life who i can point out and proudly say, "hey, that's my sister! she's [insert great qaulity here]!" and feel smugly pleased with myself about it (haha)
wiiiiiii | im usually really terrible at video/computer games so i tend to shy away, but the new wii our apt has acquired has proven to be quite entertaining. how revolutionary is this system?! our apt et al has seen its share of wii injuries (swollen knuckles, bruised chins) but it's so much fun! we even created our very own wii family (think mini me...but wii-afied) aaaand to top that off, i believe we could actually lose weight if put on wii workout regime (no joke!)
Homemade clay | is smelly but provides hours and hours of entertainment. who knew flour, water, oil, salt and a little food coloring could be so much fun!?
Disneyland | just might be the happiest place on earth. so it's been a while since i've been there (running through it doesnt count) but during my recent visit, i was seriously in awe of the spirit of disneyland. its one of hopes, dreams, magic, fun and ridiculously overpriced everything, but i love it. it was my first time in CA Adventure- that place is rockin! (: as is the "new" Space Mountain. oh...and all the trash cans asks us to "waste please"....weird
Shrimp! | remind me to never run after eating a meal containing shrimp. results are blegh. its happened about 4 times to me. i eat shrimpsomething, go running later, break out in hives, eyelids get swollen. ick... does anyone know the underlying cause of that??
from sinker to swimmer | so 5 months ago...i couldnt swim a stroke if my life depended on it. i would be so outta breath after scrambling across the pool and of course, im a sinker...as my instructor called me--a submarine. but i have faced my fears, conquered my weakness and embraced water (is that even physically possible?) and have accomplished my greatest swimming feat to date (: 2 miles nonstop! woohoo (: (basically 70 laps--3500 yds of watery bliss) hurray for swimming!
future is bright | so i just completed my last shift in the CCU at UCLA-SM hospital. it's been quite an experience- i've met some really really awesome nurses, seen some cool procedures, gotten the vibe of medlife...i'll miss the CCU. next up-- NICU

think good and feel good...and good things will come!
hope all is well with everyone!

2 miles nonstop is incredible! Looks like you're ready to rock a tri. :) Good to hear you're doing well w/ the UCLA nursing program. Be wary of deprived medical students oggling the nurses... there are many of them! =P
