SCCVL Championship Tournament at UCSD:
hot dang folks, i just had the most volleyball filled day of my life! 10am-8pm of volleyball action (O.o) had the championship tourney today in sd and we finished in 2nd place! (and that aint bad!) 5 matches (14 games total) with a 10-4 record. not too shabby bruins (: but seriously, i am soooooo incredibly thankful to have such awesome teammates to play with. all the girls on the team are seriously all superstars! anywhos, play-by-play highlights of today's excitement:
[double elimination format- matches were best out of 3; games to 25, if needed- game 3 to 15]
Match 1-10am vs. Pt Loma Nazarene- beat them in 2
Match 2- noon vs. USC- beat them in 3! (they've beaten us in the previous 2 meetings) the 3rd game seriously went on forever....it was a game of sideout, match point, sideout, tie, matchpoint..and on and on...and then we won!! :D it was soooooo incredibly exciting!!
Match 3- 3pm vs. UCSD- we lost to them in 3 (they've beaten us in the previous 2 mtgs as well) we won the first game in a tight game, lost the second sorely, and then lost in game 3 by 2 POINTS!!
soooo...after the loss we moved into the loser's bracket and what do you know, we get to play USC again!
Match 4- 5pm vs. USC- we beat them in 3 (: by this point, we were all pretty dang tired. dang we were delirious, talking about farting and pooping and just really random things. at this point, i had seriously lost my voice....so i uh..sound like a smoker now :P but yah...lost game 1, came back from behind to win game 2, and then won game 3!!! (game 3 was like a blur tho, i just member screaming a lot and kid as a blocking machine and everyone being soooo delirious) another exciting victory tho! (well it is SC ya know :P) it was seriously a matter of who wanted it more and boy did we want it.
Match 5- for the championship! and watta ya know, back to playing UCSD (which is a pretty solid team) cant member if we won the first or second game, but we lost game 3 by 2 POINTS (it was deja vu...haha) but alas....we were incredibly delirious...but we played our hearts out and what more can you ask for? (:
*sigh* and so concludes our first season as the UCLA club volleyball team (and boy did we make a scene out there ;) lets just say ive gained a lotta good memories from this season ;D LOVE you girls!
