a blog of random things that are somehow related...
so i was at the gym the other day and i did my typical warm up run on a treadmill and i went over to the mats to stretch. im doing my people watching, thinking about what im gonna do for my workout...ya know, the usual and i reach back behind me to stretch my quads and my hand lands in something wet. first thought. uh, ew i look back and there is my hand in this HUGE puddle of sweat (ok, not huge huge, but quite large in the land of sweat puddles and i hope it was sweat...) sick huh? *shudders* anywho, it reminded me of this one time when i was little. i was over at a friends apt and they had this really steep grassy hill out in front where we use to slide/tumble down i.e. almost kill ourselves on. one day, i was just minding my own business, sitting at the top of the hill, watching my friends slide down on pieces of cardboard boxes when i put my hands back to prop myself up. my right hand touched grass, my left...something mushy. first thought uh, ew i look back and lo and behold, a piece of dog crap (transformed into a dog crap pancake thanks to my hand) sick huh? i think i was OCD the rest of the day, washing my hands every 3 minutes. speaking of dogs and sick stuff...that reminds me of the time i ate dry dog food for 5 bucks. and the person who dared me...of all ppl...my dad! haha, dry dog food isnt too great. no wonder donut doesnt like eating hers. speaking of my dad. he is abso-frikken-lutely awesome. i love that man. so i was running on our treadmill this morning, which is out in the backyard and i was like...shucks, forgot the mini ipod so im running (bored) and 5 minutes in, i hear evanescence... *confused* what the hey...i look left, right, back (almost falling off the treadmill) and finally i look up and lo and behold. a speaker! haha, my dad was standing by the door, laughing/smiling. how cool is he? attaching a speaker outdoors right above the treadmill and playing something for me other than cambodian karaoke music or radio free america in khmer :P so the rest of my run was entertaining. speaking of running...i found out that i get extra credit in my kinesiology class for doing the Nike Run Hit Wonder. Our prof announced that he would give extra credit to anyone who participated in a community event that involved exercise of some sort. how cool is that?! and 50 pts at that! thats like a whole exam. speaking of exams, i have two this week, both on thursday....blah! one is for my anatomy class and identifying the muscles on the anterior side of the body O.o and the other in kinesiology on micronutrients...wee. speaking of anatomy, as part of my birthday gift, swan got me this cool set of anatomy study flashcards from costco. theyre really neat and will prove to be helpful in my studying, for shore. i was looking at them while watching the UCLA vs CAL football game...which WAS SO FRIKKEN AWESOME! oh man, that game was so good (i really wished i was there) the bruins are having a great season so far, improving their record to a wonderful 5-0. YAY! but man, they had to fight for this one. oh yeah, and MAURICE DREW IS A FRIKKEN BEAST. the other part of my birthday gift from swan was a pillow :D haha, i requested it. lately ive been waking up with shoulder/neck pains...boo urns. some say that it might be because im stressed out in my sleep (?) or because i like to curl up in fetal position...who knows, but hopefully this will prevent any more morning pains. speaking of prevention...when i was younger, someone told me that if i drank tea or ate a green apple at night, i didnt have to brush my teeth (it essentially was an alternative to brushing and would prevent cavities, haha) funny huh? even funnier. i believed them. O.o i was such a gullible child. other things that i was told and believed as a child: if you walk outside barefoot, the concrete will suck all of your blood out (i always wore my shoes outside and when i didnt have them, i would ballet tiptoe quickly), if you eat while laying down, you'll turn into a crocodile (yeah, i always ate at the table after being told that), if you lie on a bed box spring with no sheets covering it, it'll suck out your blood (yeah, a lotta blood sucking lies...), however many trees there are in the front yard of a house is how many ghosts live in that house (yeah, i dunno where that one came from but it shore did leave me wide-eyed O.O) and my favorite...if you cheat while playing hide'n'seek by peeking while It, when you look under a bush, an invisible catepillar will jump on your face, crawl up and eat your eyes out... *shakes head* man, i must have been one messed up kid. hahaha (: speaking of eating...i love home cooked food. my mom makes some of the best food ever!! i love her cooking and shes always so thoughtful when we come to visit because she makes it a point to cook whatever we're in the mood for. *hugs momma* i love that woman. anywhos...enough of my rambling. not much going on in lindaland. some old stuff. work, class, gym, shower, eat, sleep (: happy saturday!
